I am clearly not the only one with ideas for gifts this season. See Martha Beck’s article: http://www.oprah.com/spirit/Affordable-Pleasures and comments on Oprah.com.
No matter what holiday you celebrate, feeling organized is important. In order to enjoy the holidays you might consider the following: 1. Schedule time to create and write down your budget. 2. Schedule time to make your list of who you want to acknowledge and how (purchase, gift card, personal coupon). 3. Identify priorities based on who needs their gift shipped and who celebrates a holiday beforeChristmas. Don’t forget to give yourself time to relax, exercise, eat well and get enough sleep. Happy Holidays to you and yours.!
It’s clear that everyone can benefit from organizing their space, their stuff, and their time. ‘Tis the season to think about giving more by giving less! Most people have the things that they need, in fact, most people have too many things…things that don’t fit, don’t work anymore, don’t get used or displayed and so on. Give your loved ones, friends and colleagues a different kind of gift, one that doesn’t cause clutter (and therefore stress). Instead of a wrapped present, you can gift special time together, sharing time means creating memories. TIPS: Help a friend organize their time by giving a motivational partner, agree to walk with them for an hour every week. Help someone organize their finances by going shopping with them in both of your closets! You can swap clothes you haven’t worn, help eachother donate to a cause that will help someone in need, and identify items that can feel like new with some updated accessories. Don’t forget one of the most important things that you can do BEFORE the holidays is to organize the trunk of your car. That’s right, you need space for storage and easy access for groceries, flowers, gifts and so on. It is a waste of physical energy and time to have to keep moving items that you regularly keep in your trunk to add seasonal items. Do not underestimate the benefit of organizing when it comes to safety and injury prevention. Avoid reaching over things and lifting heavy items because you don’t have space near the front of the trunk. TIP: Create zones or areas for specific items. For instance, an area up front for groceries, gifts can go in the back so that the receiver doesn’t mistakenly see them before they’re wrapped, on the side you can store items for work or school, and so on.
With the holidays quickly approaching it’s important to take time and create a place to be stress-reduced. See the 10 helpful hints and ideas in http://www.wholeliving.com/photogallery/stress-free-home
Professional organizing in San Diego is like a dream come true! The weather is excellent and clients are so friendly. We just open the windows and let the positive energy start to flow through the spaces. When we go through the process of working side by side to decide what goes and what stays the spaces begin to transform before our eyes. Whether you are staying in your home or planning to move there is no time like the present to organize and create the space that makes YOU feel comfortable. ORGANIZING TIP: Store your extra guest bed and bath linens in your unused luggage. You save space and the linens are kept clean. When guests arrive the linens are readily available and they can stack their suitcases on top of yours. When it’s time to travel you won’t have guests and you can simply keep the linens on the guest bed until you return!
Imagine an office space free of dangling wires and cables!! Despite all of the wireless innovations our offices are often filled with these unsightly and potentially unsafe items. I love the wonderful little multi-purpose, stick on cable clips from blueLounge! They are unobtrusive and yet, come in the cutest colors. It is an easy way to organize your office.
