Today’s time management tip is to: Take 5-15 minutes to buy an extra bunch of flower for a friend or neighbor. Yesterday I wrote a tip about buying yourself fresh flowers and how little time it takes with long lasting benefits. Ways to be generous
As a Time Management Coach and Professional Organizer I want you to use my time management tips to find more creative ways to be generous. When you are generous with your time remember to observe the positive effects that it has on your mood, thoughts, and your interactions with others. Think about how long it actually takes to recognize someone’s achievements. Consider how often you become impatient and what it would cost you to offer someone who seems in a rush, your place in line. The ways to be generous include any thoughts, words, or actions that are giving in nature.
Enjoy some of my previous, and I hope inspiring, blog posts:
Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” I would add, “The purpose of life is to recognize your power of intention and to recognize the choices you can make with using your time. Your time is for yourself and for giving it generously to others, not to just get more non-essential tasks checked off.”
