Ralph Waldo Emerson is quoted as saying, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” I would add, “The purpose of life is to recognize your power of intention and to recognize the choices you can make with using your time. Your time is for yourself and for giving it generously to others, not to just get more non-essential tasks checked off.”
